Knitting Instructions

Knitting instructions start with making a loop on the knitting needles. There are two ways to make knitting loops. Follow the knitting instructions below to make a knitting loop or a slipknot which is the first step to knitting and learning how to knit. Before tackling any knitting patterns, you need to learn how to make a slipknot.

The first step to knitting is knowing how to start a loop. The easiest way to start a knitting loop is to fold the knitting yarn over itself into the loop shown above and then push some knitting yarn that is on your right hand into the loop.

Then just pull the loop to tighten it. Your knitting yarn will then loop like the picture below. You can then tighten the slip knot so that the knitting loop is small enough for the knitting needles. These are knitting instructions for a slipknot or the first step of knitting.
